We are pleased to announce that the New Berlin Class of 1970 has become the founding class for the New Berlin High Schools Alumni Foundation, Inc.
After the 50th Reunion, the Reunion Committee had a surplus of funds. Rather than donating a tree, a bench, or even giving the proceeds to the school for use in their general fund, We want to do something more meaningful that would benefit the students and make a difference in their lives.
The idea of doing a scholarship sounded like a perfect solution. While there are numerous scholarships for 4-year programs there is little to none for technology or apprenticeship programs. Then why not create a foundation that can be passed from one alumni class to the next? The New Berlin High Schools Alumni Foundation was born.
The Combined Reunion of New Berlin West Classes of 1971 and 1972, and the New Berlin Eisenhower Class of 1972 made a sizable donation to the Alumni Foundation. We were deeply moved by this generous gift. Additionally, Dan Slane is a Foundation Director and Liaison for the trade groups, and Jone Kwiatkowski – Chovanec is the Secretary for the Foundation.
